We welcome a new maker at this year’s Fest: The Bench by Studio Artist and Metalsmith, Clare Finin. Here is how Clare describes her style:
As an object maker I am curious about how we interact with and place value on the objects in our lives. Why do we cherish certain material things that are seemingly of little value? How do our memories that surround these objects aid to build up this sense of emotional worth? My work investigates our relationship with objects by playing on scientific, philosophical, historical, and theoretical research. Through this work I hope to find the universal link that humans share with the objects in our lives.
